SKAGIT VALLEY GEESE & SWANS ECO TOUR (March)

A 3-hour birding adventure that takes you around Skagit Valley’s farm fields in search of the thousands of Snow geese & smaller flocks of Tundra and Trumpeter swans.  They over-winter here, foraging and moving from field to field throughout the day as well as from day to day.  We’ll also be on the lookout for bald eagles, hawks, waterfowl, wading and shorebirds in protected areas.  Learn from our knowledgeable local guide how to use binoculars, a field guide and sounds to identify bird species, and practice “Mindful Birding”.

A 7-hr birding adventure to experience the rich diversity of bird life around Skagit Valley, Fidalgo, Fir & Whidbey islands.  We’ll visit a variety of habitats to search for geese, swans, waterfowl, raptors, forest, wading, shore and sea birds.  Ever been to a heronry?  Learn from our knowledgeable local guide how to use binoculars, a field guide and sounds to identify bird species, and practice “Mindful Birding”.

 


VENDOVI ISLAND BIRDING CRUISE (May – June – July)skagit guided birding tours vendovi island cruise

A 7-hr birding adventure to experience the rich diversity of bird life in the Salish Sea.  Cruising from Anacortes to Vendovi Island offers an opportunity to visit a couple of Pigeon Guillemot nesting areas and see other species of alcids, such as Marbled Murrelet, Common Murre and Rhinocerus Auklet.  Scoters, cormorants, bald eagles, seals and porpoise are often seen as well.  The 3.5-hour visit to Vendovi Island Preserve gives you plenty of time to continue birding on your own and explore the island’s forest, beaches and grassy meadows on its well-maintained trail system.
