Skagit Audubon Winter Birding Cruise

February 24, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm

$60
Gary Beltsch, holder of the record for number of species recorded in Skagit County (322!) according to eBird, will lead the birding cruise

Skagit County’s birds of winter include many species that gather on the bays of the Salish Sea before returning northward to breed. Skagit Audubon Society is offering an opportunity to see these birds out on the water. Expert birder Gary Bletsch will help us find and learn about seabirds, shorebirds, waterfowl, and possibly other wildlife up close and personal in their natural habitat.

The Blackfish IV, owned and operated by Outer Island Excursions, will leave Skyline Marina (2201 Skyline Way, Anacortes) bound for Williamson’s Rocks and other points. We’ll depart at 1:30 PM sharp. Please arrive at Skyline Marina by 1:00 PM. We’ll return about 4:30 PM. The 48 passenger Blackfish IV is well-designed for birding, with room for everyone both inside and out. Dress warmly. Waterproof jacket and pants would be best. You might want to bring a thermos and snacks.

Cost: $60.00 per person
Reservations required: phone or e-mail Tim Manns (360-336-8753 or conservation@skagitaudubon.org)
